This is the amazing journey of our two miracles. John Craig was born on November 30, 2005 at 24 weeks and 5 days gestation. He weighed 1 pound 8 ounces and was 12 inches long. John is a true miracle and an inspiration to all that meet him! Hope Amanda, our perfect little girl, is currently recovering from two brain surgeries to remove a 6cm mass from the center of her brain. Hope represents everything good in this world and she too is an inspiration to all.
For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future.

Well, it was 2 years ago today (at 2:54pm) that our little boy made his arrival.....just in time for the Holidays...smart kid! I can't believe that it's already been 2 years.....but, I also can't remember my life without John in it.

The past two years have the happiest and saddest times of our lives.....however,we wouldn't change it for anything!

So, Happy 2nd Birthday Bubba. You are extremely LOVED by SOOOOOO many people....in fact, just while we were at Speech this morning (for 1 hour) you received 9 phone calls wishing you a Happy Birthday and it's only 9:00am!!!

Cutest Kid Ever!

Thanksgiving weekend was fabulous......with both our families! Uncle Craig and Aunt Alli left on Saturday night. We are already counting the days until we see them again.....Rhode Island (next summer)....here we come!!! Ohhhhh, how we wish they lived closer....it's fun when your siblings are also your best friends!

Anyhow...

*The house is decorated.....inside and out! Have I mentioned that I LOVE Christmas?
*We are gearing up for the BIG birthday party on Saturday (which reminds me...I still need to order the sub!)
*John's PT is looking into getting him a pony walker.

Life is simply wonderful!

Attack Of The Vacuum:(

Unfortunately, John had his first BIG accident today.....I was vacuuming up the pine needles from the Christmas tree and tilted the vacuum up to roll it....John stuck his little hand underneath and the vacuum sucked it right up! It took all the skin off of the top of his hand and his ring finger. He was so brave though....just a few wimpers!

Anyhow, we gave him Motrin along with LOTS of Neosporin and a band-aid on the wound.

He is one BRAVE little man!!!

Happy Thanksgiving

We've come a LONG way since last Thanksgiving.

There are so many things we are thankful for.....our health, our happiness, our supportive and loyal friends, and are AMAZING family.

We received a VERY nice surprise last night.....My sister (n-law) called me to check and see if we received the Texas brisket that my brother sent us (to take to my parents today.) When I went outside to check, guess who was standing there? Uncle Craig and Aunt Alli drove straight through from Austin, Texas to Arizona to surprise us for Thanksgiving. We love you guys and couldn't be more thankful to be spending Thanksgiving with you and the rest of the family.

Definitely the BEST surprise ever and the BEST Thanksgiving too.....all three of them that is:)

I didn't take a lot of pictures today but, here are a few...

Bring on the Turkey!!!
Dancing with Aunt Tracy!

Discussing which song to listen to next:)

Weekend Recap!

We had a fun weekend!
John was invited to....not one but, 2 Birthday parties this weekend. Ironically, they were both at the Railroad park....one Saturday and the other Sunday!
John loved his first train ride and enjoyed watching all of the kids play!
Sunday morning we were a little lazy!

John and the Walrus (our FAT cat weighs more than John.)

Practicing walking in his new walker...that I am going to return because it is to low/he is to tall.

John in his new Conductor hat!

And, loving his new Christmas PJ's!

My Favorite Time Of The Year!

Not only is it time to celebrate my miracle man's 2nd birthday but.............it's Christmas time! Yes, I LOVE Thanksgiving too however, I have to maximize the holiday season and since turkey dinner is at our parents house, I decorate the weekend before giving me an extra week to be jolly:) Ohhhh, how I LOVE this time of year!

I began decorating today and will finish up tomorrow, including the tree and wrapped presents! Now, if it would just cool down a bit.....I have to admit, it felt rather odd decorating the house wearing flip flops and having the AC cranked:)

John even got in the spirit and tried on his new Santa hat...thanks Grams!!!

Sleeping In (UPDATED)

I just woke up and Jamie is still in bed.........and, well.....I am not sure what time John got up because he's at a sleepover!

Grams and Grandpa called yesterday to ask if Johnboy could spend the night. Of course we said yes, packed him up, and sent him on his way......then, WE went out for sushi..... and ended the night with Cold Stone (I know, we are quite the party animals these days.)

I am CERTAIN I'll have pictures to post later from Grams and Grandpa so, stay tuned!

Update:

Jamie and I headed up to my parents house around 10:00am.....we couldn't get there quick enough! John however, did not miss us as much as we missed him......he wouldn't even look up from his toy when we walked in. NO, I don't think he enjoys it over there at all!!!!

Here are some pictures....

Reading some books before bed.

Lots of lovin from Grandpa!

WOW.....we really do have a 2 year old (almost.)

Doesn't he look so big in this picture?

What's Up?

Not to much to report on the little man.....but, we'll give it a try!

We went to GI today.....his current weight is, 22.12 and length is, 32 inches. GI was not pleased with his weight....but, then again, I am not pleased with mine either so, what's his point? Anyhow, I accidentally forgot to mention our new Blenderized diet....I just wasn't in the mood to be scolded.

I put a message into our nutritionist that John needs to start packing on the LBS because we now have a weight check in 3 weeks...yikes! I had to laugh though because my homework is, to put more oatmeal in his FORMULA to up his calories.....OK, Mr. GI, I'll get right to it:)

John has mastered putting the circle and square puzzle pieces back into their correct place...do you think he's excited about this?

As you can see, he is also quite talented these days......he is able to crawl with a syringe in one hand and a bottle in the other!

Someone has also discovered the toilet.....time to baby proof the bathroom!

Catch Up!

It's time to play catch up.......I haven't had time to blog this week because ALL of my time has been spent calling/being put on hold/transferred/hung up on/etc.....with Cigna!!!

Why you ask? Well, John was DENIED his synagis' for this RSV season (after we already received a letter stating that he was APPROVED.) Ohhhhh, I am fuming again just thinking about it. We are going to keep fighting though because after all..........we have a 24 weeker who weighed a pound and a half, was ventilated for what seemed like forever, is still one years old (and won't be 2 until March...per ALL of the Dr's who say they go by their adjusted age for the first 2 years), has ST 2x a week at a clinic filled with children.....do I need to keep going? Oh, and to make matters worse.....one lady I spoke with said, "I understand your concerns. Most micro-preemies that get RSV are hospitalized and a lot of them die!" Ummmmm, hello???? Did you really need to tell this to a mother who is already terrified because they will not give her son the vaccine?

But,besides all of that, we've had a great week!

Grams, John, and I went to the park to meet our good friends, Louise, Darby, and Stephanie.......and Stephanie's 2 boys, Wyatt and Parker.

John loved hanging out with his buddies.....Wyatt shared his cheese crisp...

...and, John shared his Cheetos.

We had a very busy Halloween!!! Our first stop was to the mall to hang out with our friends and grab some lunch. After lunch, we came home for a quick nap and then it was off to see Great Grandma and then back home to see Grammy! Busy but fun!

Someone really needs to design costumes for kids in AZ! The poor little guy was sweating to death!
