This is the amazing journey of our two miracles. John Craig was born on November 30, 2005 at 24 weeks and 5 days gestation. He weighed 1 pound 8 ounces and was 12 inches long. John is a true miracle and an inspiration to all that meet him! Hope Amanda, our perfect little girl, is currently recovering from two brain surgeries to remove a 6cm mass from the center of her brain. Hope represents everything good in this world and she too is an inspiration to all.
For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future.

Baby Massage Therapist Needed

This cannot be comfortable.

I guess this is what happens when you hang your TV too high.

Anyone know of a good baby massage therapist?

Little Drummer Boy

Just a little Saturday morning fun.....with a bowl and 2 spoons!!!

John is still doing awesome on the eating front. He continued to amaze us all last weekend (as he does every day) by eating chicken nuggets, a few bites of Daddy's pizza, a few bites of a grilled cheese sandwich, and TONS of tortilla chips (which are pretty hard to eat.)

What can I say? This child is AMAZING!

Breaking News!

You'll have to sit down for this one...

My little boy (who has been tube fed his entire life) just took 2 bites of a chicken nugget....and swallowed it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

John, we are so proud of you. Keep up the GREAT work!!!

This amazing little boy has touched more lives than imaginable and I don't have the words to express how honored I feel that God choose me to be is Mommy.

Adorable

Oh my gosh, John is so stinkin cute (yes, I know I am biased)....I can hardly stand it!

Now, I am sure he's not going to be too thrilled with these pictures when he's older (and I show them to his girlfriends) but I just couldn't help myself!

He loves my headbands. Every time he finds one he puts it on his head and goes about his business. He is one funny boy!!!

TGIF

We love Friday's.....but then again, who doesn't?

Our bathroom remodel is finally finished, the house is clean, and John is taking a nap.....what a great way to start the weekend.

Tonight we are heading up to Grammy and Papa's for dinner, my mom and I are throwing a baby shower tomorrow, we are having lunch with my family on Sunday, and then going to Conner's birthday party that evening......whew, I am tired already:)

Oh, I forgot to mention....John's allergic to peanuts!!!! I gave him peanut butter (a very small amount) the other day for the first and his face broke out in a rash......Benadryl to the rescue! He has almond butter and sunflower butter all the time so who would have thought? Oh well....it could always be worse (Daddy's favorite saying!)

I Love Him!

I love this little man of mine so incredibly much (both of them.) I seriously tell John, "I love you" at least 100 times a day.

When you cannot find your sunglasses, Mommy's headband will work just as good!

Do you think he's sick of me taking his picture?

My perfect little boy!

Well there is still not a lot to report on other than...

  • We have the second part of his preschool screening on October 13th....AND, it's 3 hours long! Wish us luck:)
  • He LOVES BBQ sauce, ketchup, and Hersey syrup. He'll dip just about anything in them and then lick it off! Auntie Shernaz, I think he's taking after you in the dipping sauce department!!!
  • He slept for 13 and a half hours last night!
  • He is still not napping but we have quiet time in his crib every day for an hour and a half.

Good Times!

We had a fabulous (and busy) weekend!
First off....John passed his hearing and vision screening last Thursday (we were not the least bit worried about it.) Yippee! The next step is a 3 hour evaluation with every therapists known to man. AND then finally we'll write his IEP. WOW...that's a lot of steps to complete before starting preschool!!!
Friday night John and I (Daddy had to work) went to the Ridder's for Montana's 10th birthday party. John spent the entire time in Ryan's room playing with all of his toys!
Saturday was low key...Daddy worked and John and I just hung out around the house.
And on Sunday we ventured up to Fountain Hills to help celebrate Vienna's 1st birthday. As you can see by the pictures, a fun time was had by all!

Daddy and John in front of the big fountain (it goes off for 15 minutes every hour.)

Playing on the dinosaur.

Heading over to play with the twins (Kayden and Krysten ) and look at the ducks.

We are sad the weekend is over and look forward to the next one!!!

And...

...they said he'd never eat either!

Grams said he licked his lollipop for the longest time!!!

Bubbie, we are so proud of you. Your determination and drive is inspiring and we love you more than you'll ever know. Keep up the good work....and keep proving those Dr.'s wrong (they said they LOVE when these little ones prove them wrong!!!)

Well, we are off this morning to get screened for speech and hearing.....the first step in the pre-school screening process! Grams will be coming with us.....after 25 years of teaching, she has all of the IEP (IFSP, 504 plan, etc.) lingo down. We just want to make sure we are getting the BEST possible services for our little man.....because after all, he deserves nothing but the best!

Here are a couple awesome pictures.....these pictures truly fill my heart with joy....BECAUSE we were told that John would never be able to sit.

A true reminder that God is in control.

What Is More Fun...

...than a big red balloon from Trader Joe's?

Grams and John picked up a balloon yesterday while grocery shopping.....and he played with it ALL day long!!!

Man, I love this little boy so much:)
