This is the amazing journey of our two miracles. John Craig was born on November 30, 2005 at 24 weeks and 5 days gestation. He weighed 1 pound 8 ounces and was 12 inches long. John is a true miracle and an inspiration to all that meet him! Hope Amanda, our perfect little girl, is currently recovering from two brain surgeries to remove a 6cm mass from the center of her brain. Hope represents everything good in this world and she too is an inspiration to all.
For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future.

Gotta Wear Shades!

Daddy bought John some new shades to take on our trip.....who would've thought he'd actually wear them? He seriously wears them all day....and the funny part is, he wears them upside down!
Johnny Boy, you are too stinkin cute!

We Did It!

I am happy to report that John successfully had his legs casted this morning for new (and much bigger) AFO's. He did awesome this time around......probably because his legs were not sore from the Botox injections AND, we brought the portable DVD player....The Wiggles are our BFF's!!!

On another note, our little guy took a 3 hour nap yesterday.......this is unheard of!!!!

The Griswold's Family Vacation

...I mean the Birtch/Lindley family vacation!

I am sure you can tell by the pictures that we all had an amazing time. We were sad to leave Uncle Craig and Aunt Alli but we know Christmas is right around the corner.....we're counting the days until they arrive!!!

So, here's a recap of our New England vacation...

John eating his breakfast!

Hmmmmm...I wonder why everyone thought we were tourists.

Clark Griswold...I mean Grandpa, on the ferry to Block Island.
Taking a quick snooze on the ferry.
Now, this is one cool dude!
Aunt Alli and John checking out all the crazy animals on Block Island.
Down the hill we go....
...and back up to do it again!

Ryan, Daddy and Uncle Craig at the All Star Game.

The rest of us went to Cape Cod for the day while the boys were in NYC (Grandpa has those pictures on his camera though.)

Our new summer home...tee hee!

John playing in the Vanderbilt's backyard...just your typical playdate!!!!

Heading home!

Lots of Firsts

The three of use are experiencing a lot of firsts here in New England......and having a blast at it!!!

So far this trip (and we still have 5 days left...yippee) John has...

Flown on an airplane
Touched a live lobster
Ridden on a boat to Block Island
Taken a subway in Boston
Gone to Fenway Park (Daddy, Grandpa, and Uncle Craig went to the game)
Experienced Boston's famous Duck Tour

Someone made packing for the trip a little difficult:)

In route to RI!
John was so good on the plane.....even after the long delay in Phoenix!

Heading to Block Island.....our view from the ferry.

John loved crawling (and rolling) down this huge grass area on Block Island.

Heading to Boston

Relaxing at lunch while the boys take in a Red Sox's game.

Waiting patiently for our Duck Tour to begin.

Our view from the boat (Duck Tour.)
We absolutely loved Boston....it is so beautiful!

After a long (but fun) day!!!!

All is Good!

Not too much to report other than...
  • John's pony walker is FINALLY in....after months and months of waiting.....yahoooooo!
  • We scheduled an appointment on July 23rd to (hopefully) get casted for new AFO's....wish us luck.
  • I started John on digestive enzymes about a week ago....and his eating is really taking off. French fries are his favorite....he ate 5 yesterday!!!

And, wish us luck on our 5 hour flight to Rhode Island tomorrow!!!

Help Me!

So, John's newest thing is to sign "Help me" whenever he doesn't want to do something. For instance when I try to put him down for a nap....we'll read our two books and then as soon as I place him in his crib he stares up at me with this pitiful look and signs "Help me!!!!!" He'll also do it in the swimming pool. For some reason swimming is not his thing this year:( So, as soon as we get in the water he'll sign "Help me Mommy!!!!"

Yes I know, I have one smart (and absolutely adorable) little boy.

Fourth of July Recap

We all had a good time yesterday (despite every single one of our friends being out of town.)
We Barbecued at the Renneckars with my parents and then ventured down to the ballpark for a D-backs game and fireworks. The game...not so good but, the fireworks definitely made up for it!!!!

Taking a quick dip in the pool!!!

First taste of Gelato....Ummm, Ummmm good!

John is sooooooooooooo big!

My boy all tuckered out.
