This is the amazing journey of our two miracles. John Craig was born on November 30, 2005 at 24 weeks and 5 days gestation. He weighed 1 pound 8 ounces and was 12 inches long. John is a true miracle and an inspiration to all that meet him! Hope Amanda, our perfect little girl, is currently recovering from two brain surgeries to remove a 6cm mass from the center of her brain. Hope represents everything good in this world and she too is an inspiration to all.
For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future.

Third Birthday Party

On Saturday afternoon we celebrated my baby girl's third birthday.  All her best friends came over for an afternoon of fun......and enjoyed getting fancy manicures from my niece and her friend!  The boys camped out in the other room and played the Wii....because Hopie insisted it was a, "Girls Only" party!

Thank you to all my wonderful friends and family for making this day so incredibly special for my sweet little girl!!!

Courtney's Sandcastle

We just returned home from a fun filled vacation to San Diego!!!!  I thought I'd start with our grand finale first......Courtney's Sandcastle (John's Disneyland!)

I touched briefly on this AMAZING park that my BFF took us to in March....it's a new park in San Clemente, CA built for kids with all abilities.  It has wide ramps for wheelchairs/walkers, sensory activities, musical instruments, cushioned ground, braille, large swings.....EVERYTHING you can think of that children with special needs may need.  It's a place where all kids can play together...a place where John can safely roam and play on all the equipment by himself......giving him a sense of independence!!!!!!!!!

So yesterday we drove two hours in California traffic (that's how wonderful this park is....and how wonderful my best friend is) to meet my BFF and her family before heading home!

The kids had a blast and tears were shred as we literally pulled them off the equipment to leave.

My dream is to one day have a park built just like Courtney's Sandcastle (here in Arizona) in honor of my little man!

Dream BIG or don't dream at all!!!!!!!!!!!

Summertime

I seriously do not want summer to end.  We are having such a fun time.....and I LOVE having Johnboy home all the time.

Let's see.....

Hopie asked me yesterday how the Doctor got her out of my tummy......thank goodness I had a C-section and thank goodness she didn't ask me how she got in my tummy!!!!!  I am not ready for that talk yet:)

And, my tube fed son (who we were told would probably never be able to eat by mouth) ate TWO hamburgers yesterday.  Take that naysayers!!!!!  He also was showing me how he could walk to the potty and stand and pee-pee all by himself.  His words exactly, "Don't clap till the very end.  Don't say a word.  Keep your mouth closed and don't say anything until the end."  Hahahahaha!!!!!

Man, I LOVE these two!!!!

And, a big THANK YOU to my Aunt Connie and Uncle Bill who sent John a congratulations card on his 432 steps!!!!!!!!

Number Four

 Now you see it!

Now you don't!

My big guy lost tooth number four......his first top tooth.  He looks so stinkin cute with that hole in his mouth.

The following morning (after he counted all his loot) he said, "I couldn't see the Tooth Fairy because she was so teeny tiny flying in my room!"

And, poor Hopie is wiggling her teeth like crazy.  She desperately wants the Tooth Fairy to pay her a visit.

Birthday Month

Let the birthday celebrations begin!!!

Today we celebrated Hopie's birthday with Grams and Papa (because they won't be here on her actual birthday) and boy was it fun......even with the darn 101.5 fever that my sweet girl woke up with:(

The morning started with alternating Tylenol and Ibuprofen.......and movies on the iPad in Mommy and Daddy's bed.  Then napping at Grams and Papa's, lunch, presents, Grams' infamous ice cream birthday cake and a sleepover with cousin Ashley.

Even though my baby girl was under the weather, she still had a wonderful day.

Present time!

She LOVES her new double baby jogging stroller!

Cannot believe my baby girl will be three years old at the end of the month!!!
