This is the amazing journey of our two miracles. John Craig was born on November 30, 2005 at 24 weeks and 5 days gestation. He weighed 1 pound 8 ounces and was 12 inches long. John is a true miracle and an inspiration to all that meet him! Hope Amanda, our perfect little girl, is currently recovering from two brain surgeries to remove a 6cm mass from the center of her brain. Hope represents everything good in this world and she too is an inspiration to all.
For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future.

Pumpkins Galore

This little man of mine has more pumpkins than anyone I know!!!!

Grams bought him 2 last weekend (which we didn't end up carving... so that's on our to do list this week,) Daddy brought 2 home from the store last week, Grammy came over yesterday to babysit and brought him one AND carved it, and then today we went to Old McDonald's Ranch and John picked out the most beautiful one in the pumpkin patch.

I know John had a lot of fun craving pumpkins.....but I am not so sure he was a lot of help:)

He was more interested in his cousin Ashley and the bubbles she was blowing!

He loves his cousin so much.

They turned out great.....John's is the one on your left (when looking at the picture.) Ashely did such a great job with it!

John playing with the donkeys!

On our hayride to the pumpkin patch.

Blackmail

This picture cracks me up......my crazy little man!

Other news:

  1. John got a new walker and is doing fabulous with it. I love watching him walk!
  2. He can now sign 34 words....our goal is 50 before preschool.
  3. He starts Hippotherapy (therapy on a horse) in 2 weeks....yipppppppeeeee! The only downer is, it's an hour away (Mesa.) The didn't have room at the stable near us but I really think he'll benefit from this type of therapy.....so, it's worth the drive.
  4. He loves his baby pumpkin.....he rolls it, carries it, takes in the bath, and kisses it!!!! He is so darn cute.
  5. We are going to the pumpkin patch this Sunday.
  6. He is eating like a champ.....the other day he ate 2 entire biter biscuits (that's an extra 90 calories!)

I think that's it for now!

Weekend Fun!

It looks like it's going to be a good weekend!!!
Daddy and John left bright and early this morning to go watch Jack and Chase's (John's cousins) soccer game. And, tomorrow we're carving our pumpkin at Grams and Grandpa's house!!!

I think he's tired of pictures...what do you think?

And, in preparation for preschool.....John and I are working on "school" signs. In one day he has learned:

School

Table

Principle

Quickie!

This is going to be short and sweet....

The evaluation went well, John qualified in all areas, and he'll be going to Desert Springs for preschool starting January 5th!

Mommy only got teary eyed once....and that's because she was so proud of her little guy.

UPDATED:

OK....I don't know how I forgot to post about John's weight. We went to the pediatrician today to get a flu shot and Johnboy weighed in at a whopping 28.2 pounds....he's HUGE!!!!! And, my tough guy didn't even make a peep when he got his shot (my heart was racing for him.) He's my little Superman.

This & That

This is going to be a very random post....a little bit of this and a little bit of that!!!
For starters, I got a bike and a bike trailer for my birthday last week (and then we went and got Daddy one) and we've been doing some serious bike riding ever since.

John loves bike riding too!!!

No worries....John DOES have a helmet. These pictures were taken the morning of my b-day...we were just testing it out.

My little man...happy as always!

This is the tail end of John signing, I love you. Grams always signs I love you (and points to him) so he thinks "you" is his finger pointing at himself. Too stinkin cute.

John's had a cold for the past few days but he's weathering it well. Ironically, he picked up the cold from the little boy in music class:)

We are getting up bright and early tomorrow for John's (3 hour) preschool evaluation. I am feeling a tad bit anxious about it. I am extremely realistic and I know John is delayed in several areas....it's just hard to hear others point it out. No one wants to hear all the things your child should be doing, but isn't. We just want the best for our little boy....so if Mommy sheds a few tears along the way, so be it!

Sweet Boy

Is this not the cutest face you've ever seen?

Funny story...

Tonight at music class there was a little boy who was fussing on and off the entire class. At one point (when the boy was crying) John crawled over to him and covered his mouth with his hand....as if to shut him up! It was so funny...everyone started laughing.

The Little Gym

A few weekends ago we went to our buddy Connor's 4th b-day party. The party was held at the Little Gym...John had a blast!

He...

Shot hoops,
Played with TONS of balls (his favorite toy at the moment,)

Hung out with Carson on the balance beam,

Hung on the uneven bars,

Walked on the balance beam,

And, crawled across the bouncy blow up thingy:)

By the look on John's face (in ALL of the pictures) I am thinking we may be having one of his birthday parties at The Little Gym!
