Cubs Announce Signing Number One Pick!

The Cubs organization recently announced the acquisition of sought after prospect, John C. Birtch, to a multi year deal.  Details were sketchy, but it is rumored through his agent, Papa, that it included an immediate signing bonus of a Mickey Mouse pancake at the Good Egg.  Also, in the package will be McDonald Happy Meals throughout the extended 4 week season.

Birtch, drafted out of Desert Springs Preparatory Elementary School, is a highly prized utility player who will be featured at his home park, The Miracle League, started by former Diamondback major league pitcher, Dan Harren.  The Miracle League, located in east Scottsdale, is for players with special needs.  Each player is assigned a game "buddy" allowing parents and fans to cheer from the stands.  If you crave great baseball, check it out.  Games are Saturday mornings.

Sibling Love

My kids fight just like any siblings do but man do they ADORE each other.  They truly enjoy being with each other.

Today I told Hope she couldn't do something and John said, "Mommy, stop being so mean to Hopie!"

I hope they always remain this close.  It sure makes my heart happy.

Callie Madeline

Hopie FINALLY got her first cabbage patch doll, Callie Madeline!!!

My girl is in love with her new baby and thinks it's pretty neat that she was born two days after her.  

Last weekend Daddy drug out all of my old cabbage patch dolls from the attic.  So now she has a total of six.  However, I found the two boy ones in John's room:)  She said she only likes the girls because girls rule!  

Cousins

Cousins sure do make the best of friends.....and ours are SOOOOOOOO good with John (and Hope of course!)

I love that all the boys go to school together and that they high five John every time they see him in the halls.  It makes this Momma proud of ALL of them.

Play Ball

We are so fortunate that Arizona has a baseball league for our little boy.  It's a league where kids of all abilities are able to play the game safely.  The field looks like a miniature major league baseball field....except the ground is cushioned to protect them if they fall.  They play the kids favorite song when they come out to bat....John choose, "I am Sexy and I Know it!!!!"  Too bad Daddy vetoed it.  Instead, he'll walk out to, "Party Rock Anthem!"

John is VERY excited for his first game and I am certain he will have the biggest cheering section!!!
