This is the amazing journey of our two miracles. John Craig was born on November 30, 2005 at 24 weeks and 5 days gestation. He weighed 1 pound 8 ounces and was 12 inches long. John is a true miracle and an inspiration to all that meet him! Hope Amanda, our perfect little girl, is currently recovering from two brain surgeries to remove a 6cm mass from the center of her brain. Hope represents everything good in this world and she too is an inspiration to all.
For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future.

Where Did My Itty Bitty Baby Go?

Just in the past month, John's development has really taken off.......and, so has his height. He is SOOOOO tall. I am curious to see how tall he actually is.......which will be next week at the pediatrician (flu shot...yuck!)

My itty bitty baby isn't so itty bitty anymore.

My lil guy playing with, not one....but two bottles of teething tablets! Poor guy is already working on his 2 year molars....AND, he's not even 2 yet!!!

What a BIG boy we have!!!!

Guess who has discovered the trash can?
The little bugger is constantly pulling trash out:)

Last Home Game!

Another fun weekend......is over too soon!

We had a fabulous day at the ballpark..........the only thing missing was a few more runs for the D-backs:( Even though we lost, we still had a good time.

John was such a trooper. He was all smiles......even though he was exhausted (it was a nap free day.)

He spent a good part of the day with Grandpa.....LOVING the tickle torture!

And, also had tons of fun with Grams!

Say, Ahhhhhhhh!

There is nothing better than the love of a Grandparent! And, boy does John love his Grams!

Long Overdue!

So much for that update about our day with Emma. As fun as it was.....it definitely confirmed that I am NOT ready for baby number 2 anytime soon:)

Anyhow, we have been busy as usual. If we are not at therapy or a therapists is not at our house, WE are working with John on exercises and such!

Today we did a little multi-tasking..........John is working on strengthening his legs in his stander (new goal is to be in the stander 20-30 minutes twice a day), watching Signing Time, and eating 8 ounces (240ml) of blended food in one sitting (35 mins.)

Yesterday John had his IFSP. All went well......only suggestions were...coloring and more social interaction.

So, Grams and John went out and bought some new crayons and we drew our first picture today!!!!!!! I think we might have an artist in the house:)

In other news, we have added a new Dr. to our list...........orthopedic surgeon. We've had concerns about John's feet turning in. So, at his AFO appointment a few weeks ago I voiced those concerns. The Dr. felt confident that the turning in was coming from below the knee and not his hips (which we were thinking)......HUGE relief. However, he does want us to see an orthopedic surgeon for a second opinion and maybe some x-rays!

In the meantime, his PT brought over another contraption to help pull his feet out. Thankfully, he doesn't really seem to mind it.

Wild Weekend!

We need another day off......our weekend was exhausting! We went to a party Friday evening, out to dinner on Saturday night, to Imagination Avenue Sunday morning, and a party Sunday afternoon!

John has a blast at Connor's birthday party. It was held at Imagination Avenue.....it's closed on Sunday's and only opened for private parties so, I wasn't too paranoid about germs. Plus, every child has to use hand sanitizer before entering!

Anyhow, John slid down the slide,

Played in the castle,

And, had his own private area (infants only) to play with tons of different toys!

Then at Montana's birthday party......John and Cousin Ashley had lots of fun playing with the balloon.

Ashley, would hit John in the face with it and he would crack up!!!

Do you think John enjoyed his weekend?????

I do!

Stay tuned because tomorrow John and I are babysitting our best friend Emma. We can't wait!

A Couple Things....

Just a couple of things about our day........
  1. Today was a HUGE barf day:( I am not quite sure why however, the blend was much thicker for some reason so maybe that was the cause. At any rate, these types of days are not the norm anymore so I guess I can handle them every once in awhile.
  2. I think (keep your fingers crossed) that we may qualify for Synagis again this year.....only a preemie parent would understand how exciting this news is!!!
  3. John sat on his bottom (not a "W" sit) for an entire Wiggles song. That's my boy!

And now I'll leave you with a cute tub shot.....after all, what's a post without a picture of the big guy?

BD Update!

We are still extremely excited about the blenderized diet. It has been such a blessing for all of us and because of it....John is growing physically (I hope) and developmentally.

John gets 4 bolus's per day of blended food.......about 200ml each. He is sleeping through the night (and boy does it feel GREAT for us too) and as of a few days ago.....naps are back in the picture!

He only vomits when he cries.......which he just started doing every time we put him down for a nap or at bedtime:( However, the vomit is MUCH less than before.

Our little man is sitting like a champ! His balance is getting a lot better.........proof that his cerebellum is making connections. He is still unable to sit on his bottom but we know that in time, he will be able to do that too.

And, John and I went to our first Stroller Strides class yesterday. We both LOVED it however, Mommy is walking very slow today after ALL those lunges:)

We are also planning our first rode trip/vacation at the end of the month. We are sooooooooo excited to spend the weekend with one of my very best friends (Katie) and her family.......and we can't wait to take John to the beach! California, here we come!!!!

A Day At The Zoo!

Today John made his first (of many) trips to the zoo. Daddy had the day off and Mommy played hookie.....AND, since it was ONLY 107 degrees out....we decided it was a perfect day for the zoo.
Note to self: DO NOT go to the zoo again until it cools down.

Hooray, I am at the zoo!

What Monkey Daddy?

Hey Bears, wake up!

This is sooooooo much fun!

Dead give away........IT'S TOO HOT!!!

Here Kitty Kitty!
My little monkey!

First Horsey ride......

.....and, not to fond of it!

All in all we had a fun (hot) day at the zoo. Unfortunately, most of the animals were sleeping or hiding in the shade............John didn't care though, he was more interested in the guard rails!

John's already checking out the ladies!
Thanks Auntie Corrie and CJ for coming over to play.......same time next week?
John and his buddy Roman watching the wiggles and having lots of fun!

Giddie up Grandpa!

There's nothing better than ice-cream on a HOT summer day.

Up close and personal!

Can you see his fat lip and the knot on his head?
