This is the amazing journey of our two miracles. John Craig was born on November 30, 2005 at 24 weeks and 5 days gestation. He weighed 1 pound 8 ounces and was 12 inches long. John is a true miracle and an inspiration to all that meet him! Hope Amanda, our perfect little girl, is currently recovering from two brain surgeries to remove a 6cm mass from the center of her brain. Hope represents everything good in this world and she too is an inspiration to all.
For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future.

Christmas 2007!

John's 3rd Christmas was FABULOUS! We were able to venture out and spend time with both our families yet still have time to relax on Christmas morning.

Santa was VERY good to us....we all made out like bandits and enjoyed spending the day playing with ALL of John's new toys.

John actually got the hang of opening presents this year....only problem, all he was interested in was eating the wrapping paper. Silly boy!

Christmas Eve

My poor baby had, had enough...he was soooooo tired:(

Christmas Day

As you can see by the pictures, we had a wonderful Christmas! We are already sad that it's over and can't wait to do it all over again next year:)

HELP!

Please, someone help me....my child will NOT nap and I am losing my mind. I KNOW he is not ready to give up his nap because he is clearly exhausted but he has been fighting it for over a week..ahhhhhhh!

Anyhow, with that being said, I don't have enough time to write about our Christmas. SOOOOOO, I will leave you with yet another GREAT X-mas photo.

The infamous John and Grandpa (mouth open) photo!

All I Want For Christmas Is...

...a new button!!!
Well, Mommy made her first call to 911 today.....but, luckily half way through the call I was able to cancel it.

Here's how it went down....

John's button (G-tube) came out today......while Daddy was at Home Depot:( I didn't panic, just pushed it back in and waited for Daddy to get home so we could change it together. We have about 7 extra buttons at home so there was really no need to worry (even though we've NEVER changed it before.) However, things didn't go as planned.....pull the old button out, slide the new one in, and then fill the balloon with water. Sounds simple, right? Well, once we got the old one out, we could not get the new one in and John was SCREAMING in pain because we were trying to force it in. We tried numerous times with NO luck. We were about to make the trip down to Phoenix Children's but we were afraid the hole would close before we got there, so I called 911 in hopes that the paramedics could help. Thankfully though, Jamie was able to get it in as I was talking to the 911 operator.

Here is a picture of the old button. The part at the bottom (that is torn) is what we call the balloon. When filled with water (using the side valve on the top), it holds the button in place. As you can see, the balloon popped.

Needless to say, it was a scary few minutes, but now John has a beautiful, new, clean button for Christmas!!!

AND, this incident comes after another scare last night...the little bugger pulled an ornament off of the tree and it shattered all over him. By the time I got to him, he was covered...head (mouth) to toe. I am thinking we may find a little sparkle in tomorrows poo:)

Seriously!

I think my little man has given up his nap....SERIOUSLY! We've gone 4 days now with NO nap at all. My poor mom is exhausted (she's been watching him all week.) We're not giving up though...any and all suggestions are welcomed!

Here are a couple pictures of John EATING pretzels....SERIOUSLY! I still can't believe it and yes, we are eating on the floor (don't worry it's clean)....but, if he wants to EAT on the floor (or anywhere else for that matter) then the floor it is:)

This is John's newest face.....too stinkin cute!

Don't you just want to kiss that little face?

We're Still Alive!

We are still here, still alive, and doing FABULOUS (minus the cold Mommy picked up at the Church Christmas concert.)
Let's see, where shall I start????
Well, for starters.....I don't feel too guilty about having to cancel John's birthday party anymore because.....we are still celebrating! In fact, he has received a new gift almost everyday since his birthday....AND, it was 2 weeks ago!

NOOOOOO....John's not spoiled:)

We are not going to be able to walk in this room before long....especially after Christmas!

We also received John's Pony Walker this week. This one is actually a loaner until ours arrives.

Other news:

John had his 2 year check up yesterday and he now weighs 23.8 pounds! His Pediatrician still cannot get over how good he's doing.

I loaded him up with Motrin before we headed out the door because I thought he'd be getting shots. Well, he didn't get any shots but he did take a great nap:)

And, the best news is.....we don't have to go back until he's 3! Yaaahhhhoooo!

After the pedi. we went to the Dentist (who we absolutely LOVE.) If you recall, the last Dentist (who I did not care for) took one quick look at him and said, there's nothing we can do. Well, this new Dentist (who had a 27 weeker, 15 years ago) sat with us, listened to our concerns, played with John, examined his teeth, put fluoride on them, and discussed a plan (fluoride every 3 months and we'll talk about capping his teeth when he gets older.) She was AMAZING and I am sooooooooooo glad we found her.

So, if anyone needs a pediatric Dentist, you know who to ask:)

Rain, Rain, Go Away!

I love the rain.....BUT, just not on the day of my son's birthday party!

As many of you know, it rarely rains in Arizona....so, what are the odds that we get TONS of heavy rain ALL weekend long?

Needless to say, the party (at the park) was cancelled. However, we did throw together a little something for the birthday boy on Friday night.

I still cannot believe this journey started 2 years ago....so, we once again thank you for keeping us in your prayers and for being along for the ride…for the past 2 years!!!
