This is the amazing journey of our two miracles. John Craig was born on November 30, 2005 at 24 weeks and 5 days gestation. He weighed 1 pound 8 ounces and was 12 inches long. John is a true miracle and an inspiration to all that meet him! Hope Amanda, our perfect little girl, is currently recovering from two brain surgeries to remove a 6cm mass from the center of her brain. Hope represents everything good in this world and she too is an inspiration to all.
For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future.

Progress

GREAT news...John gave his baby sister a kiss on the lips yesterday. He just walked up to her and planted one on her. He also had fun tickling her toes:) I think he's finally coming around!

So In Love...

...with my 2 kids!

John is loving school and has a really nice group of kids in his class. They are all around the same age (3 and 4 years old) so he doesn't look like a little peanut this year. Myself and another mom signed up to be room moms.....we are in charge of the class parties!!!!!!!!!! It's going to be a GREAT year!

Little Miss. Hope came home from the hospital weighing 4 pounds 12 ounces and as of today she weighs 6 pounds 15 ounces.....we are going to have a 7 pounder this weekend!!!!! She is eating every 3 hours and will go 4 hours at night. I NEVER thought 4 hours of sleep would feel so good:)

Jamie and I are adjusting well. It's definitely a lot of work having 2 children but we couldn't have asked for a better life. We are blessed beyond words and praise God daily for our wonderful kids.

My Kids

Life is good in the Birtch home!

John still isn't too sure of his little sister but we are making progress......he has given her ONE kiss, patted her on the head a few times and signed "I love you" to her before going to bed. We aren't pushing him and know in time he will love having her around.

And by the way, this picture is totally staged:) Jamie plopped her on his lap so I could take a quick picture.

Beautiful Girl

One of my good friends from work, Natasha, is also a photographer.....she offered to do a photo shoot of Miss. Hope. Needless to say she does amazing work and the pictures turned out wonderful!!!!!!!!!

I know I am hopelessly behind on posts (still need Hope's birth story and my Big Guys first day of school) but there isn't much sleeping going on in the Birtch home so those posts will have to wait. Not too much longer though...I promise!
