This is the amazing journey of our two miracles. John Craig was born on November 30, 2005 at 24 weeks and 5 days gestation. He weighed 1 pound 8 ounces and was 12 inches long. John is a true miracle and an inspiration to all that meet him! Hope Amanda, our perfect little girl, is currently recovering from two brain surgeries to remove a 6cm mass from the center of her brain. Hope represents everything good in this world and she too is an inspiration to all.
For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future.

Back in Business

My wonderful husband surprised me this morning with a new camera!!!!! So, here is what you all come to my blog for.....pictures of my BIG BOY!

John is growing and developing daily. His vocabulary is rapidly expanding (thanks to Music Therapy) and the tone of his voice is getting louder too. I love hearing my baby talk and the BEST is when he repeats after me:

Mom: "I"
John: "ah"
Mom: "love"
John: "uh"
John: "MAMA!"

He'll then do it again and say..."DADA!"

And, on Baby Girl news....we are STILL pregnant, still contracting, still on bed rest BUT only have 9 days to go!!!!!

Update

Well, I still haven't found my camera but Grammy has loaned us hers because Hope's arrival may be sooner than anticipated. No worries though....as of today I am 34 weeks and 2 days gestation.

Here's the scoop.....

We took our 3rd trip to the hospital late Monday night with pretty intense contractions. Come to find out (after being monitored) they were 2-5 minutes apart.....no wonder I was uncomfortable. I was given a shot of Terbutaline and another FFN test......contractions stopped and FFN was negative so we were sent on our way. The contractions picked up again on Tuesday so the Dr. ordered me oral Terbutaline and was instructed to take it every 6 hours.....not fun at all but it's doing the job so I am not complaining. I had my weekly Dr. appointment on Wednesday and on top of the contractions I am now showing signs of Preeclampsia and not feeling well.

So, I have now been placed on bed rest......thank god for my amazing husband (aka Mr. Mom,) my Mother-n-law, all of my BFF's........AND, my mom who is flying home this weekend (cutting her summer vacation 3 weeks short) for helping us and taking care of John.

We know God is in control of everything and we know He has big plans for little Miss. Hope. Now we just wait for the arrival of our 2nd miracle!!!!!

We'll keep you updated!!!!

Lost Camera

Well, I have an excuse this time for being M.I.A......I lost my camera and it has some seriously cute pictures on it.

Anyhow, Grammy was able to get some equally cute pictures yesterday to tide you all over!!!!

What did I tell ya? Cute, right?

John is seriously obsessed with his sunglasses (minus the lens that he took out.) He wears them ALL day long and usually up side down too. It cracks me up every time I look at him.

Breaking News!

I seriously have the smartest kid in the world!
So, this morning John got into a bag of gifts he was given (at Hope's baby shower) and pulled out all of the bath alphabet letters.....THEN he found the 4 letters that make up his name and arranged them in the correct order.
Yep, he did this all by himself!!!!!

And if this wasn't cool enough....he then proceeded to write his name on his drawing board! His "J" was backwards and his "h" was capitalized but it was HIS name and HE wrote it all by himself without even being prompted.
We are so proud of our little man!!!!

My Handsome Man

All is still well in the Birtch home (and we're still pregnant...yippeeeee!)
We've been going to our daily therapies, swimming, trips to the library, play dates, shopping, D-back games and much, much more. Our summer has been PERFECT .....well, a trip to the beach would have been nice but traveling is out of the question for me.
Below are some pictures of the main man.....handsome as ever with his new do. Thanks Grams for taking the big guy to get his hair cut....he'll be ready for another one when you get back:)
