This is the amazing journey of our two miracles. John Craig was born on November 30, 2005 at 24 weeks and 5 days gestation. He weighed 1 pound 8 ounces and was 12 inches long. John is a true miracle and an inspiration to all that meet him! Hope Amanda, our perfect little girl, is currently recovering from two brain surgeries to remove a 6cm mass from the center of her brain. Hope represents everything good in this world and she too is an inspiration to all.
For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future.

Poco

Finally an update about yesterday!

John and Ms. Danielle (his PT) walking up the ramp

Waiting for John's horse, Poco

Getting ready to hop aboard

Straightening his helmet

And they're off

Enjoying his ride on a warm November day....will it cool down already?

Shooting some hoops....his favorite part of the entire day!

As you can see, Hippotherapy was a success.....John LOVED it!

It was completely safe (PT on one side, spotter on the other, and a walker in front) and Mommy wasn't worried one bit. The PT and the spotter have a hold of him the entire time (they are holding on to straps that are hooked on that belt he is wearing.)

They do a variety of activities while on the horse to work different muscles and work on trunk control. His favorite by far was shooting hoops into the basket. I wasn't allowed to be with him but from where I was sitting on the patio I could see him sign, "more, more" and then clap for himself every time he made a basket.

He was exhausted after his ride and slept the entire 40 minute ride home!!!!!! I guess we need to buy him a horse if we want him to take naps again. Grandpa, I believe you were supposed to buy Craig one when he turned 10......since that never happened, why don't you buy your favorite grandson one?

We can't wait for Monday (we switched days next week because his birthday party is on Friday and I didn't want him to be worn out) for his next ride.

Instead of a horse, will a nice rocking wooden motorcycle do? Check out the garage the next time you're over.

That's great that John is enjoying hippotherapy so well, I wish we could start is already but they won't take him till he's 3! You may have a future cowboy on your hands or uhm according to grandpa a future biker!

That's so perfect.

I would have been a bit nervous.

I am impressed HE didn't cry. Eli would have FREAKED OUT!!!

The other day i was trying to get him to sit on an oversized dog (190pounds) and he screamed like someone was hurting him.

I just am so glad you guys have that accessible and available to you for your little guy.
