This is the amazing journey of our two miracles. John Craig was born on November 30, 2005 at 24 weeks and 5 days gestation. He weighed 1 pound 8 ounces and was 12 inches long. John is a true miracle and an inspiration to all that meet him! Hope Amanda, our perfect little girl, is currently recovering from two brain surgeries to remove a 6cm mass from the center of her brain. Hope represents everything good in this world and she too is an inspiration to all.
For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future.

No Fun (UPDATED)

We are so grateful that the surgery went smoothly.....unfortunately we cannot say the same for the recovery.  These past 24 hours have been miserable.  They have given him numerous pain meds but nothing is doing the trick.....and he has not slept for more than 30 minutes at a time since he came out of surgery yesterday at 2:30pm.  And on top of all this, he is now requiring oxygen because his saturation's are low (due to the pain meds.)

Please pray that the doctors and nurses can find something that will ease his pain and let him rest peacefully.

This is so hard but I know it will be worth it....I can already tell the difference in his legs.

PM UPDATE:

My little man is finally resting comfortably.  In fact he has been sound asleep for the past two hours.....snoring away next to me.

Anxious to see what each day brings!

I'm assuming its nerve pain and that is the worst pain to be in =-( poor little guy. Have they given him a muscle relaxer on top of the pain meds? I have issues with my trigeminal nerve in my face and when that thing flares up, no pain med will help but a valium will. And it also helps me sleep. good luck!

Nothing worse than seeing your child in pain. You feel so helpless. The day after major surgery is usually pretty shitty. Hard to have patience when your child is suffering. Your past 2 entries have given me goosebumps to read. Hang in there, Birtch's. Know that you all are surrounded by love and healing prayers.
