...a new button!!!
Well, Mommy made her first call to 911 today.....but, luckily half way through the call I was able to cancel it.
Here's how it went down....
John's button (G-tube) came out today......while Daddy was at Home Depot:( I didn't panic, just pushed it back in and waited for Daddy to get home so we could change it together. We have about 7 extra buttons at home so there was really no need to worry (even though we've NEVER changed it before.) However, things didn't go as planned.....pull the old button out, slide the new one in, and then fill the balloon with water. Sounds simple, right? Well, once we got the old one out, we could not get the new one in and John was SCREAMING in pain because we were trying to force it in. We tried numerous times with NO luck. We were about to make the trip down to Phoenix Children's but we were afraid the hole would close before we got there, so I called 911 in hopes that the paramedics could help. Thankfully though, Jamie was able to get it in as I was talking to the 911 operator.
Here is a picture of the old button. The part at the bottom (that is torn) is what we call the balloon. When filled with water (using the side valve on the top), it holds the button in place. As you can see, the balloon popped.
Needless to say, it was a scary few minutes, but now John has a beautiful, new, clean button for Christmas!!!
AND, this incident comes after another scare last night...the little bugger pulled an ornament off of the tree and it shattered all over him. By the time I got to him, he was covered...head (mouth) to toe. I am thinking we may find a little sparkle in tomorrows poo:)

First I must say that is an adorable picture and where did you find the PJ'S. Second I must say OMG!!! You have to be kidding me I would of paniced for sure. Good for you. SO did the balloon pop while inside John, and what type of button do you have? So there is no need for a doctor visit you have the same button and the placement is good. That is great to be able to spare the trip to ER. Sorry to hear of this but glad it all worked out. Tis the Season... Tracy and James and really where did you get those PJ'S and he looks so mature in this pic, I think.
OMG- that sounds so scary! I am so glad that things turned out okay- I would have totally panicked!
PS: I love the jammies too!
Wow---how scary on both counts. Let's hope that the rest of the Christmas holiday is a whole lot less eventful! John is so adorable in his PJs, by the way.

I noticed that John likes to "W" sit, although he can sit on his bum too. Serena is doing that now. Since she isn't getting from crawling to sitting, she instead crawls to where she wants to go and "W" sits to play. I try numerous times to put her on her bum but she'd much prefer the "w" sit especially since she can then get to her knees to look at something above eye level. What has PT or anyone said about John doing this? EI seems concerned about Serena doing it and I'm trying to break her of it, but I'm having very little success.
