This is the amazing journey of our two miracles. John Craig was born on November 30, 2005 at 24 weeks and 5 days gestation. He weighed 1 pound 8 ounces and was 12 inches long. John is a true miracle and an inspiration to all that meet him! Hope Amanda, our perfect little girl, is currently recovering from two brain surgeries to remove a 6cm mass from the center of her brain. Hope represents everything good in this world and she too is an inspiration to all.
For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future.

Bragging

I know all parents are excited when their child begins to read but when you have a child who's had a massive brain bleed and were told he'd be a vegetable with no quality of life, it's that much GREATER!!!!!   MY BOY CAN READ!!!  And just now as we were stopped at a red light, John looked out the window and said, "Momma!  That sign says, John!"  And sure enough, it said his name on it.

John, you inspire me to be a better person.  To love unconditionally.  To make the best of everything.  To be proud of who I am.  To hold my head up high.  To laugh constantly.  To live life to the fullest.  And to never give up.....no matter how high that hill might seem or how difficult that obstacle may appear.  You've proved that anything is possible and we are all better people because of you.

You are my hero and I thank you for all that you have taught me.  I feel privileged to call you my son!

Stay tuned....

A post about his equally amazing sister is coming up next!

I am so proud of him and I only know you guys from our blogs but he really is an inspiration!!
I just posted yesterday with the title "A need to brag" Jonathan just walked with support but it was huge for all of us especially when we were told he would never be able to do that! God is far greater, smarter, and is the ONLY one that knows what our kids will do!!

This post brought tears to my eyes. To say that John is an incredible little man, is an understatement. What a blessing he is! God granted you with such a wonderful gift, and John is equally as blessed to call you and Jamie his parents. Thanks for sharing such awesome news...way to go John!

Have I told you lately how proud I am of not only John and the rest of the family, but of you as a daughter? John is not the only inspiration for the rest of us. Tears are flowing from both the post and the fact that 2 weeks is tooooooo long to be away from these kiddies. One more sleep John, then Grams and Papa are going to smother you and Hope with kisses, hugs, and maybe a few cheek bites!!!
We miss you soooooooooo much!
Oodles of love,
Grams & Papa

Grams, you always have a way with words!
This beautiful, smart, happy child is a reflection of his parents. What an amazing family! We are all so proud of John, and of course Hope, Mom and Dad. We love you so much.
And Grams, I made sure they did not miss out on hugs and kisses. They are awesome!
Love

Jilly this post brought tears to my eyes and joy to my heart. John is an angel among us, and inspires everyone he meets to be the best person they can be, to persevere, and like the little engine that could always believe that they can do anything when they put their minds to it. And doctors as talented and smart as they are don’t hold a candle to God, his grace, and the power of prayer. xoxo
