This is the amazing journey of our two miracles. John Craig was born on November 30, 2005 at 24 weeks and 5 days gestation. He weighed 1 pound 8 ounces and was 12 inches long. John is a true miracle and an inspiration to all that meet him! Hope Amanda, our perfect little girl, is currently recovering from two brain surgeries to remove a 6cm mass from the center of her brain. Hope represents everything good in this world and she too is an inspiration to all.
For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future.

WOW!

Wow, there must be an almost 4 year old in our house!!!

On two different occasions this morning we found John drawing this...

And this...
Music therapy has done wonders for our little man. His amazing therapist has taught him to write his numbers, use complete sentences, sing numerous songs (word for word) and READ sight words. Yes, my 3 year old can read!!!

We are so proud of him...as always!!!!

In addition to our almost 4 year old, we also have an almost 4 month old!!! Seriously, where does time go?

Little Hopa (as John calls her) is doing just as fabulous as her big brother. She has slept through the night numerous times, smiles, coos, and laughs constantly and is just a delight to be around. Oh, and we are pretty certain that she has her Daddy's blue eyes!

The Birtch Home has definitely been blessed!!!!

Stay tuned for another post in the next few days.....because we are heading to Imagination Avenue this afternoon for John's 4th Birthday Party (with 25 of his best friends....wow!)

This post made me smile so big. I am thrilled to see that John is doing all the great things that he is doing (and that Hope is doing fabulously too!)

And the doctors said he wouldn't sit, wouldn't stand, wouldn't communicate - John knew exactly how to respond . . . NONSENSE!!!!!!
Shout it loud, shout it far - you are one very special boy who can do ANYTHING you set your mind to. We love you sooooooooooooooo much and are soooooooooooo proud of you!!!
Oodles of love,
Grams & Papa

You said it all, Grams. John is showing everyone that "can't" is the 4-letter word used too often. He is our inspiration, and Hope is lucky to have him for her BIG BROTHER!

Love,
