This is the amazing journey of our two miracles. John Craig was born on November 30, 2005 at 24 weeks and 5 days gestation. He weighed 1 pound 8 ounces and was 12 inches long. John is a true miracle and an inspiration to all that meet him! Hope Amanda, our perfect little girl, is currently recovering from two brain surgeries to remove a 6cm mass from the center of her brain. Hope represents everything good in this world and she too is an inspiration to all.
For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future.

Bottomless Pit

Oh yes, my tube fed son is EATING us out of house and home.....and what a wonderful site it is!!!! His ST seems to think his tube may be removed as soon as 6 months.....but I am not so sure about that (nor am I ready for it.) You see, John is the healthiest kid around.....in his tube he gets, ALL organic (and all gluten free)...fruits, green veggies, yogurt, avocado, quinoa, beans, almond butter, walnuts, flax meal, flax oil, olive oil, and rice milk. It's also nice to have the tube when he's sick....we never have to worry about dehydration. However, it will be nice when the day comes and we can say sooooooooooo long G-tube!!!!

Saltines are his new favorite!

It's a tough decision deciding what book you want to read next:)

WOw...you sure do keep that boy as healthy as can be...i could certainly see the up-side to having that G-tube.

I'll always remember when the doctor suggested we put a tube in Caitlyn and Alyssa. He was worried about their gag reflex and their nutrition. He told us it would only be for their first few years of life.

The thought of putting a tube in their tummy scared me and my hubby to death.

We never went back to see that doctor.
I always wondered if we had made the right decision in NOT putting one in them.
It's good to see that they were able to thrive without the tube (although i dunno if 7 years old and 32 pounds is "thriving" :D

But nonetheless...
There were indeed times when they were sick, or when they would refuse to eat ANYTHING when i had wished we had gone ahead with the tube.
Worrying soooo much about their nutrition, their caloric intake, etc....

Anyway, all that to say, that it's exciting that you guys might be tube-free by Christmas time!

John continues to beat all odds...what an amazing little guy you have!
