Operation Big Boy Bed (UPDATED)

We are now on night two of operation "Big Boy Bed" and all is well. Luckily tonight went much smother than last night.

My big boy!

When Grams asked him how many books he wanted her to read.....he held up 4 fingers. So, 4 books is what he got! She's in trouble though when he learns to use his fingers on both hands!

Snug as a bug.

I love that little hand!

And, a huge thank you goes out to Grams for making our transition to a big boy bed a success. We certainly couldn't have done it without you.

UPDATE:

Well, apparently I spoke too soon......last night was rough. Grams put him down around 7:30pm and he fell right to sleep (our first night it took us 2 hours to get him to sleep.) However, he woke up at midnight screaming and crying ( I think he had a nightmare.) This went on for over an hour. I could not get him to settle down and because of my surgery I am unable to lift him (hence the operation big boy bed.) So, the little Monkey decided that the floor was a good place to sleep and he cuddled up next me and fast asleep we went (on the floor in his room.) Daddy got home around 2:00am and put him back in his bed for me.

Wish us luck tonight. Third times a charm, right????

Grams

Thanks so much for doing double duty. Sorry I could not have participated. I can't wait to see him in his new environment!
As for the books, he always sneaks a few extras from me.....I don't think I am doing it right!

Awwww...sorry it was a bit rough.

I hear it usually takes a few nights before they adjust to a new bed time routine (or sleep place).

The pics you caught were priceless.

He looks so big and long in that bed.
What a big boy he IS growing to be!
:D
His face always brings a smile to mine!

I feel for you we had a hard time too- we first tried the toddler bed (but we waited to long and had to do it after the new baby brother came home- that was rough!!) Anyways I think it was too small because he was always falling out or hitting the wall and would end up screamming......we finally switched to a double mattress on the ground- its totally getto but it works and the best part is if there is a probelm we can just fall in bed with him.....Good luck....at least you are doing it now BEFORE the baby- although I feel for you because you really need that sleep when you are pregnant too! and not being able to pick him up.....ahhhhhhhhhhh....hang in there!
