This is the amazing journey of our two miracles. John Craig was born on November 30, 2005 at 24 weeks and 5 days gestation. He weighed 1 pound 8 ounces and was 12 inches long. John is a true miracle and an inspiration to all that meet him! Hope Amanda, our perfect little girl, is currently recovering from two brain surgeries to remove a 6cm mass from the center of her brain. Hope represents everything good in this world and she too is an inspiration to all.
For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future.

Toe Grabber!

Oh my gosh...............I just looked on the video monitor to see if John was asleep (which he isn't of course) and he was grabbing his toes! Yeahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh! Another HUGE milestone! This has been one of his PT goals since last summer. What can I say, he amazes me EVERY day!

Update: So, after I witnessed John grabbing his toes on the video monitor I had to go in his room and congratulate him.......meaning, I had to get him out of bed and play with him:) I am such a softy when it comes to my baby:) Anyhow, he continued to grab his toes throughout the day. I caught him in the act numerous times and snapped LOTS of pictures!

I put him down for a nap (again) around noon (he didn't fall asleep until 12:30) and he slept until 3:30. WOW is right! Unfortunately for Aunt Chris (John's primary) he slept the entire time she was over today:( Oh well, we had a good time catching up! She actually asked Jamie and me to speak at a graduate class she is teaching on Monday..... so, the majority of the time today we spent talking about that and reminiscing of the very difficult NICU days. We feel extremely honored to be able to share John's amazing story with others........thanks Chris for asking us! Wish us luck as we are a little nervous........I know once we get started we'll be fine.

*For some reason, I can't post any pictures:( I'll try again tomorrow!

Yeaaa John...Now you won't be able to keep them out of his mouth, diaper changes are a challenge when their legs are up in the air and they have a deathgrip on that foot...
